The Rental Housing Association of Washington's government advocacy program exists to defend the rental housing industry for the citizens of Washington State.
RHA's team of lobbyists work on the membership’s behalf to pass pro-housing legislation and to defeat bills harmful to the rental housing industry. RHA also relies on the participation of its members to educate elected officials on rental housing industry-related issues. They listen to their constituents!
During each Legislative Session in Olympia, and throughout the year at local governments, RHA sends "Call to Action" emails to its membership when important legislative matters impacting the rental housing industry arise and membership participation and feedback to legislators are needed. Call to Action emails update members on legislation and advises them when to contact their legislators.
RHA's lobbying efforts have been responsible for sponsoring, amending and defeating legislation affecting the rental housing industry, but without participation from RHA members, the small business owners who can put a face on the industry, our lobbying team’s efforts are made much more difficult.
